The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur at places in the evening or night in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and Galle, Matara and Polonnaruwa districts.

They further mentioned that there may be rain in the morning in the western coastal part and in the districts of Galle and Matara.

They further mentioned that strong winds of around 40 kilometers per hour are also possible in Anuradhapura and Puttalam districts and in the Northern Province from time to time.

They urge the people to take measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur during thunderstorms.
