The Department of Meteorology says that rain or thundershowers may occur  Eastern, North Central and Uva provinces and also in Trincomalee district.

They further mentioned that there may be some rain in the morning for the coastal areas of the  Western Province In coastal areas and the districts of Galle and Matara.

They urge the people to take measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur during thunderstorms.
